Ultrasound - also called sonogram; a radiology technique, which uses high- frequency sound waves to produce images of the organs and structures of the body.

Umbilical line - tube(s) inserted into the umbilical cord stump (belly button) used to draw blood and to do other procedures.

Urea - a nitrogen-containing substance normally cleared from the blood by the kidney into the urine.

Ureter - a tube that carries urine down from the kidney to the bladder.

Uroureter - also known as hydroureter; the stretching of the ureter with urine due to blockage.
