. . . We come at last to realize,
Death breaks the earthly tie.
But, love survives when grief has passed;
for LOVE CAN NEVER DIE.

A Baby is a Blessing
A Gift from Heaven above
A Precious Little Angel
To Cherish and to Love.
~ Author Unknown
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam and for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world; but then it flies on again and although we wish it could have stayed, we are so thankful to have seen it at all. ~ Author Unknown
A life so young released to heaven . . . Left on earth, we wonder 'Why?' But some are sent among us briefly; Some have spirits meant to fly. ~ Author Unknown
A life that touches others goes on forever. ~ Author Unknown
A million times I have needed you,
a million times I have cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
in death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a special place,
that none will ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
but you did not go alone.
For all my love went with you,
the day God called you home."
~ Author Unknown
A mother holds her children's hands for a little while; their hearts forever. ~ Author Unknown
An angel opened up the book of life, wrote down the baby's birth, and whispered as she closed the book, "Too beautiful for Earth." ~ Author Unknown
Anticipation
I wonder why I love you,
I feel it in my heart,
It seems so long,
that we've been close,
I've loved you from the start.
Sometimes I'm apprehensive
will everything be fine?
I know I'll love you anyway
dear unborn child of mine.
I long to see your little face,
and hold you close to me,
my precious unborn baby,
will soon be here to see.
~ Author Unknown
Beginnings
A baby to hold and to love,
a creature so tiny, so fresh and so new.
There's nothing more important or special
that two loving people could ever do.
Who will the baby look like
will it be a he or a she.
Part of him, part of her,
a creation that is meant to be.
All we could ever want for our baby
is very simple and very plain
It's to be happy and content in life
and know our love will never wane.
~ Author Unknown
But the thing to remember is that not only the pain will last, but the blessed memories as well. Tears are the proof of life. The more love, the more tears. If this be true, then how could we ever ask that the pain cease altogether. For then the memory of love would go with it. The pain of grief is the price we pay for love. ~ Author Unknown
Children who die are not really gone,
But go to a place that is something like home,
Where they sleep the deep sleep, as quiet as stone,
Until we can join them when our lives are done.
Children who die are not really dead,
But just like good children tucked into bed,
Wait the long wait while we go ahead
Till our tales are all told and our tears are all shed.
Children who die feel no pleasure or pain
In the place where they wait till they see us again,
And all of us dance in a world washed with rain
Where the sun shines so brightly no sorrows remain.

Conversation With God
When I asked, "Why did you make her have abnormalities?"
He answered, "Not abnormalities, uniqueness."
When I said, "Why are you doing this to us?"
He answered, "Not doing, but allowing."
When I screamed, "I can't live if you take her."
He answered, "I am what sustains you."
When I prayed, "Let this cup pass from my lips."
He said, "All works for my will to be done."
When I cried, "She needs her mother."
He whispered, "Only I love her more than you."
When I held her still body and sobbed, "It is over."
He said, "It has only begun."
When I shook my fist at Heaven and yelled, "I am angry at you."
He said, "I know."
When I said, "You don't understand this pain, this loss."
He reminded me, "I, too, lost my child, my only child."
When I asked, "How? How can I help anyone when I'm in this pit?"
He said, "Slowly, you will heal, and comfort others."
~ Author Unknown
Could we ever forget your sparkling eyes
or the way you brightened each day,
or your smile
which is etched in our memories,
so you're never far away?
Could we ever forget
those priceless moments?
The answer, of course, is never.
For you were part of our lives
for a brief time,
but you'll be part of our hearts forever.
~ Author Unknown
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal . . . Love leaves a memory no one can steal. ~ Author Unknown
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that swiftly blow.
I am the diamond glint
on newly fallen snow.
I am the sunlight
on ripened grain.
I am the soft and gentle autumn rain.
When you wake from sleep in the early morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft, starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
~ Author Unknown
Don't cry because it's over . . . smile because it happened. ~ Author Unknown
Don't Grieve For Me
Don't grieve for me,
for now I'm free
I'm following the path
God laid for me.
I took His hand when
I heard His call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or pray.
Tasks left undone
must stay that way,
I found that peace at
the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
Perhaps my time has
seemed all too brief,
Don't lenghten it now
with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts,
and share with me
God wanted me now,
He set me Free.
~ Author Unknown
Funny how the grief process works--it certainly isn't always following a consistent pattern. It dips back and regresses back into the sadder moments quickly without any warning. Just because you get further out does not always mean it progressively gets better and easier. Sometimes, it gets harder. ~ Author Unknown
God Saw You
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you
and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away,
And though we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
~ Author Unknown
Gone yet not forgotten although we are apart. God has you in his keeping, I have you in my heart. ~ Author Unknown
"How long will the pain last?" a broken-hearted mourner asked me.
"All the rest of your life," I answered truthfully. ~ Author Unknown
How lucky I am to have known someone . . .who was so hard to say goodbye to. ~ Author Unknown
I remember before I had children I thought there was nothing worse than having a child die before you... Now I know that's not true. Not having them in your life at all would be worse. ~ Author Unknown
I think about how much I miss him,
and start to feel sorry for myself . . . .
but then I think about all the people
who never got the chance to meet him,
and I start to feel sorry for them.
~ Author Unknown
If I could have a lifetime wish;
A dream that would come true
I'd pray to God with all my heart,
for yesterday and you.
A thousand words can't bring you back,
I know because I've tried.
Neither will a million tears,
I know because I've cried.
You left behind my broken heart,
And happy memories too.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
~ Author Unknown
If I Could Take.....
If I could take a minute out of each and every day.
To hold my child close to my heart and kiss his fears away.
If I could take a minute out of each and every week.
To play with blocks and peek-a-boo, tag or hide and seek.
If I could take a minute of any span of time.
I'd never waste a second of the pleasures that were mine.
If he could crawl upon my knee and lay his sleepy head,
upon my shoulder tenderly and dream of gingerbread.
I'd spend my time in total bliss and watch my small son grow,
from babyhood to childhood, knowing all there is to know.
If I could stop my aching heart and put my mind asleep,
If I could stop the flow of tears that are always on my cheek.
I only need a minute, Lord, I know he's safe with you.
But there's something real important that I had no time to do.
If you could do it for me, Lord here's a message he should know,
Tell him that I Love him, then I'll let him go.

I'll Be Here
Daddy Please don't look so sad, Momma please don't cry
"Cause I am in the arms of Jesus and He sings me lullabies
Please, try not to question God, don't think he is unkind.
Don't think He sent me to you, and then He changed His mind.
You see, I am a Special child, and I'm needed up above.
I'm the Special gift you gave Him, the product of your love.
I'll always be there with you, and watch the sky at night.
Find the brightest star that's gleaming,
That's my halo's brilliant light.
You'll see me in the morning frost, that mists your window pane.
That's me,in the summer showers, I'll be dancing in the rain.
When you feel a little breeze, from a gentle wind that blows.
That's me, I'll be there, planting a kiss on your nose.
When you see a child playing, and your heart feels a little tug,
That's me, I'll be there Giving your heart a hug.
So daddy, please don't look so sad, momma don't you cry.
I'm in the arms of Jesus, and He sings me lullabies.

Just think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched. For nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much. ~ Author Unknown
Little Angels
When God calls little children to
dwell with him above,
We mortals sometimes question the
wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with the
death of one small child,
Who does so much to make our
world seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling the
aged to His fold,
So He picks a rosebud before
it can grow old.
God knows how much we need
them, and so He takes but few,
To make the land of heaven more
beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try,
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be "Goodbye."
So when a little child departs
we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children,
angels are hard to find.

My baby brother is not here yet,
I've seen him in pictures, but we've never met.
I've seen all his toes on both his feet.
I cannot wait until the day we meet.
I've seen his eyes, his nose, and his mouth,
and a little something toward the south.
I've seen his arms, legs, and belly too,
just three more months until he is due.
I've seen the connections with the unbilical cord
the way he lies there-he must be bored!
I've heard the sound of his heart....beating fast,
I cannot wait till we meet at last.
I've even felt him move inside of my mother,
I cannot wait to meet my baby brother.

No matter how many years pass, we remember. The loss of a loved one is like a major operation; part of us is removed, and we have a scar for the rest of our lives. ~ Author Unknown
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again. ~ Author Unknown
Our family is a circle of strength and love. With every birth and every union, the circle grows. Every joy shared adds more love. Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger. ~ Author Unknown
Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy. ~ Author Unknown
Remembering
Go ahead and mention my child, The one that died, you know.
Don't worry about hurting me further. The depth of my pain doesn't show.
Don't worry about making me cry. I'm already crying inside.
Help me to heal by releasing The tears that I try to hide.
I'm hurt when you just keep silent, Pretending he didn't exist.
I'd rather you mention my child, Knowing that he has been missed.
You asked me how I was doing. I say "pretty good" or "fine".
But healing is something ongoing. I feel it will take a lifetime.
~ Author Unknown
Remembering You
Your time on earth seemed all too brief
because I wanted you in my life forever.
And although I really miss you,
in my heart I know that you are at peace.
Still, countless times throughout the day
I find myself remembering you.
Although I cannot see or hear you,
I know that you are with me.
I'll feel you in the warmth of the summer sun.
I'll see you in the brilliance of autumn leaves.
You'll be beside me in the peacefulness of a gentle snowfall
and rejoice with me at the emergence
of the first flowers of spring.
I'm thankful for the times we shared
and the priceless memories too;
for those memories are a comfort now when I lovingly -
Remember You.

Some people dream of angels. I've held one in my arms. ~ Author Unknown
Tears are the proof of life. ~ Author Unknown
The various stages of grief. It's not fluid. It doesn't always follow a pattern that makes sense. Often, the months further out are just as hard, if not harder, than some of those right in the beginning. You're just numb then. Now, the pain is much more apparent. ~ Author Unknown
Then the wound is healed, so to speak, the stitches are taken out... The scar is still there, and the scar tissue, too. As the years go by, we manage. But the pain is still there, not far below the surface. We see a face that looks familiar, hear a voice that has echoes, see a photograph in someone's album, and it is as though the knife were in the wound again. But not so painfully. And mixed with joy, too. Because remembering a happy time is not all sorrow; it brings back happiness with it. ~ Author Unknown
There he is, sleeping,
right there inside you;
he is gently moving,
to him every movement is new.
He feels safe and warm,
he knows he is soft and fragile;
he can't wait to be in your arms,
and see your beautiful smile.
For he knows you are beautiful,
he can feel it through your love;
which happens to be plentiful,
something you'll always have enough of.
Soon he shall be with you,
bringing you tears of joy;
then you will know just what to do,
to take care of this baby boy.
~ Author Unknown
This doesn't mean that the pain continues at the same intensity. There is a short while, at first, when we hardly believe it. It is rather like when we have cut our hand, we see the blood flowing, but the pain has not yet set in. So when we are bereaved, there is a short while before the pain hits us. But when it does, it is massive in its effect. Grief is shattering. ~ Author Unknown
To live in the hearts of those we love is never to die. ~ Author Unknown
To know him was to love him. ~ Author Unknown
To the whole world he was but one; but to us he was the whole world. ~ Author Unknown
We cried tears when we learned that a child would be, that our God had allowed you to quicken in me. We cried tears with our loved ones as they shared our joy, and we thought about names for a girl or a boy.
I cried tears as I thought of the things we would do, all the things that your Daddy would pass on to you. And I cried tears as I thought of each inch you had grown, as I pondered the day that you'd make yourself known. Then to think of the world you must enter brought fears, once again little loved one your Mother cried tears.
Something's wrong,I can tell - once again there are tears, and I'll not get the chance of your love through the years. Oh the ache and the sorrow and all of the pain, and again, yes again my tears fall like rain.
Then His peace comes to me as I think of you there, gently rocking with Father in His favorite chair. Your sweet little fingers clenched tight in His palm, and His son softly singing to help keep you calm.
Our God knew your days before you came to be, and He knew little one you would not stay with me, so I cry, but I know that when this life is done, I will greet and embrace you, my sweet little one.
There's a time to be born and a time to die, and the joy and the sorrow both both make us cry!
~ Author Unknown
We thought of your little boy today,
We will tomorrow too,
We thought of little Drew yesterday,
And we also thought of you.
We don't know the perfect words to say,
We don't know what to do,
Your little boy had too short a stay,
And our hearts ache for you.
Your family is always in our thoughts,
Your son is in our hearts
And in that battle that he fought,
More knowledge of his condition starts.
~ Author Unknown
What the heart has once owned and had, It shall never lose. ~ Author Unknown
When I must leave you
When I must leave you for a little while,
please do not grieve and shed wild tears
and hug your sorrow to you
through the years.
But start out bravely with a gallant smile;
And for my sake and in my name,
live on and do all things the same.
Feed not your loneliness on empty days
but fill each waking hour in useful ways.
Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer.
And I in turn will comfort you
and hold you near.
And never, never be afraid to die;
For I am waiting for you in the sky!
